Amanda Hampson

Amanda started obedience training in 1991 and agility shortly afterwards. She has been competing since 1992.

Rogue - Shoredancer Sea Jade

Rogue was born in October 2006 and is Amanda’s second Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. Although she has not yet been measured Rogue is also a little on the small size for the breed and there is a possibility that she too will be medium.

Rogue has recently started training in agility and is very enthusiastic. She is not as food orientated as Minx though and prefers toys, not just her own but every other dogs toy in her group. Rogue is full on fun and a great dog to own.

Minx was born in October 2002 and is a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, this is quite a rare breed in the UK although they are increasing in popularity. Minx is actually 2 or 3 inches below the breed height  standard and this has meant that she is competing in Medium agility classes. Minx loves agility and is great fun to run, she is full of enthusiasm, loves attention, food and the standard Staffs Agility toy – a latex ball!

Minx has been very successful in agility and has competed at the Olympia Medium Agility Final in 2006, won the Medium Senior Agility at Crufts 2007, reserve CC at Weardale 2007. Minx and Amanda were also part of the British Team at the Agility World Championships in Switzerland in 2006 and are off to Norway in 2007

Secondhand Kes ("Kes")

Amanda had Kes as a rescue when she was roughly eight months old in 1998. Despite being an exceptionally laid back dog Kes has been surprisingly successful in agility competitions. Although only 17” at the shoulder Kes originally competed at standard height and she qualified for the ABC agility final at Tatton Park twice in 2000 and 2001.

At the end of 2003 Amanda moved Kes to Midi height at competitions and she has thoroughly enjoying competing over the lower jumps. Kes is very consistent and has had a few wins taking her to senior level. Kes also qualified for the Midi Agility Final at Olympia in December 2006. Just to get to Olympia is an enormous achievement so Amanda was thrilled that Kes ran brilliantly going clear in the Kennel Club Midi Agility Final and coming fifth.

Kes is a fantastic dog to own and her love of children has resulted in success with a number of the junior handlers at SAS. Jessica Cooke has enjoyed running her during 2007 in junior classes and the partnership has had a number of clears and places.

December 2005
Amanda and Kes recently attended their first Agility Final at the Olympia International Horse Show in London on 15 December. Just to get to Olympia is an enormous achievement so Amanda was thrilled that Kes ran brilliantly going clear in the Kennel Club Midi Agility Final and coming fifth. Amanda also said that the atmosphere at Olympia was incredible with the cheers of the spectators really encouraging dog and handler round the course. It was a day that she will remember for a long time.
