Put simply, it is show jumping for dogs, the handler directs the dog around a number of obstacles and the time taken to complete the course is measured, along with the number of faults. At the end of the class, all the scores are sorted and the dogs/handlers with the best results are awarded prizes (usually the best 15-20 places). Many competitions also award rosettes for all "Clear Round" dogs ( those which have completed the coarse within the time limit without any faults) Major errors, such as touching the dog or getting the obstacle order wrong, result in elimination.
